Dance! Dog! Dance! Premieres at Tyneside Cinema

Knock & Nash Screen School’s latest short film, Dance! Dog! Dance!, written by acclaimed North East writer Lee Mattinson, has officially premiered at Newcastle’s Tyneside Cinema.

The premiere brought the cast, creatives and guests together to see the finished film on the big screen for the first time, marking a brilliant moment for everyone involved in bringing Lee’s script to life.

Featuring Knock & Nash actors Carmen Kissiel, Mel Purdy, Amy Faye, Órla Jones, Sunny Woodend and Mark Rogerson, Dance! Dog! Dance! is a darkly comic, distinctly North Eastern short set against the chaos of a hen do, where the arrival of a male stripper dressed as a police officer sends an already unusual morning in an increasingly unpredictable direction.

For Knock & Nash, the film is also part of our continued commitment to creating opportunities beyond the classroom. Training matters, but so does giving actors the chance to put that work into practice: working with new writing, collaborating on set and seeing the finished work reach an audience.

Seeing Carmen, Mel, Amy, Órla, Sunny and Mark on the big screen at Tyneside Cinema made the evening particularly special.

But the premiere is just the beginning.

Following its Tyneside screening, Dance! Dog! Dance! now enters the film festival circuit, where we’re excited to see the film begin the next stage of its journey.
