Knock & Nash, the award-winning team known nationally for delivering an exhilarating alternative to traditional conservatoire training, are now auditioning for the fourth edition of their acclaimed intensive film project. Auditioning is free, and places on the programme are strictly limited to just six actors. Auditions will be allocated following registration. This immersive, week-long programme runs from 31st August to 7th September in Newcastle Upon Tyne and is designed as a hands-on learning experience, exclusive to exceptional students. It is open to those who have previously trained with Knock & Nash or who can demonstrate proven professional experience. Throughout the week, participants will collaborate with a professional screenwriter and a full industry crew to create a cinematic short film. Each role will be tailor-written to the actor cast, offering a unique opportunity to stretch and showcase talent in a bespoke way. Previous writers have included Lee Mattinson and Nina Berry, and past projects such as Show Pony have gone on to achieve international acclaim at film festivals. This is not simply about performance but about training in real-world conditions. With location shoots, evening filming, and preparation outside of class, actors will gain invaluable insight into the rhythm and demands of a professional set. The experience is designed to develop stamina, sharpen creativity, and expand craft in a way that traditional training rarely replicates. The finished film will be submitted to festivals, premiered online for an invited industry audience, and credited on IMDB. Footage will also be made available for showreel use (licensing terms apply). The programme fee is £1,695, which covers the full training and production process. A deposit of £595 secures your place, with the balance payable in full or in instalments.
