Knock & Nash’s Practical Screen Acting course offers a transformative, five-day programme designed to break down and rebuild the intuitive and technical elements of an actor’s craft. As one of the largest and most respected independent training providers for screen actors outside London, we offer you a rare opportunity to train with an active production house, learning directly from BAFTA-winning professionals. This immersive course combines techniques from renowned practitioners, including Meisner, Michael Chekhov, and David Mamet, to equip you with a deep understanding of screen acting. You will work with professional, Netflix-approved equipment, shooting scenes every day in real-world industry conditions. The course focuses on breaking down your current approach, helping you refine your instincts and technical skills, before rebuilding them into a cohesive, professional screen performance. Throughout the programme, you’ll develop your character-building skills, learn how to analyze scripts, and explore audition techniques—all while adapting your performance to different shot sizes and styles, including drama, comedy, and soap opera. Working within a true production environment, you will gain experience with blocking, hitting marks, camera angles, and the collaborative process of working with directors and crew.
