Knock & Nash is one of the leading providers of screen acting training outside London, known for its hands-on approach and team of award-winning professionals. As an active production house, we offer actors a rare opportunity to train with industry experts who are currently working on real film and television projects. Our Screen Acting Online programme runs across five training blocks each year, with each block lasting six weeks. Sessions take place once a week on either Tuesday or Wednesday evenings (7–9 PM) and are taught live on Zoom. Students attend one class per week and are allocated a class and tutor based on experience level and availability. Working with real TV scripts currently in production or on air, you’ll learn how to approach and break down scenes professionally. The course focuses on practical screen acting techniques that help you deliver authentic, engaging performances. Between classes, you’ll complete exercises designed to help you apply these skills in real-world contexts. As part of an active production house, the course mirrors our in-person training while offering the flexibility of online study. You’ll engage with peers and tutors in real time, with opportunities to ask questions, share experiences, and receive personalised feedback. When registering, we ask for some footage of your work - this could be a professional showreel or a simple monologue recorded on your phone. Based on this and your experience, we’ll confirm whether you’re ready to join a group class. We do not offer beginners’ group classes. If we feel you need more foundation training, we’ll recommend starting with 1-to-1 sessions instead. If you’re unsure of your level, we encourage you to check in with us before applying. After two years of part-time training, students become eligible to join Spotlight, a key industry platform that opens doors to professional opportunities. Knock & Nash’s Screen Acting Online programme blends practical, industry-led training with the convenience of learning from home. While we always take your preferred class day into account, class allocation cannot be guaranteed. Places are assigned based on availability and to ensure each actor is placed in the most suitable class for their level and learning needs. Once confirmed, class allocations are final and changes may not be possible.
