Knock & Nash is one of the leading providers of screen acting training outside London, known for its hands-on approach and team of award-winning professionals. As an active production house, we offer actors the opportunity to train with industry professionals currently working in film and television. Our Spring Term 2027 runs for 12 weeks, with live online classes every Tuesday evening, 7–9pm, via Zoom. The term begins on 5 January and ends on 6 April 2027, with breaks on 16 February and 30 March. We believe good training starts with getting to know the actor in front of us. That's why our classes have no more than eight actors. Small groups give us the space to listen, challenge and offer thoughtful, individual feedback. We want everyone to feel seen, supported and encouraged to take creative risks. Working with real television scripts, including material currently in production or on air, you'll explore the craft and practical demands of acting for screen. From breaking down scenes and preparing self-tapes to understanding how the camera captures thought and behaviour, our training reflects the realities of working in television and film. Our teaching is rooted in truthful human behaviour: listening, responding and pursuing what you want, rather than chasing emotions or searching for the 'right' way to deliver a line. We encourage actors to stay connected to themselves, developing performances that feel honest, spontaneous and alive. Classes are practical and collaborative, reflecting our in-person training. There's room to experiment, make mistakes, ask questions and discover what works for you. Between sessions, you'll complete exercises to help carry your learning forward. When applying, we'll ask for footage of your work. A professional showreel or a simple monologue filmed on your phone is absolutely fine. We're interested in your instincts, not expensive equipment. We'll review your submission and experience to make sure group training is right for you. Enrolment covers the full 12-week term. Term fee: £300, payable in three £100 instalments: £100 at booking, £100 on 1 February 2027 and £100 on 1 March 2027. After two years of qualifying and consistent part-time training, students will become eligible for Spotlight membership, subject to Spotlight's current requirements.
